Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

Most of us over the age of 40 (and in many cases over 30) begin to experience a hormone imbalance, because hormones decline naturally as we age. Exposure in our lifetime to multiple environmental and dietary toxins can contribute to this decline and disruption. A well-balanced and properly functioning hormonal system is essential for optimal health and wellness, and the skin is the largest of all organs in the body.

Among the conditions and diseases that can occur at any stage in life, and which result from a hormone imbalance are adrenal fatigue, thyroid disease, metabolic syndrome and sexual dysfunction. These can result in the classic symptoms of aging such as weight gain; loss of energy; hair loss; loss of libido; depression; mood swings; sleeplessness; tiredness; poor concentration; and memory loss.

Addressing diet, exercise and lifestyle may not be enough to replenish a particular hormone deficiency, and the MÖ Aesthetic Clinic is therefore pleased to introduce Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). Bioidentical hormone preparations are medications which are an exact chemical match, or molecularly identical, to those made naturally by humans and as such are compounds the body is familiar with. The body can therefore use them as its own to restore hormonal balance. This means that hormone loss and imbalance is easily correctible for both men and women. Via diagnostic hormone testing, your current hormone levels and your unique bioidentical hormone needs can be determined.

Bioidentical hormones are more efficacious than their synthetic and animal-derived counterparts as demonstrated by clinical outcomes and physiological data.  Bioidentical hormones can be ’customised’ to and better tolerated by the individual, whereas synthetic hormones are available in a limited number of standardised dosages and delivery systems, hence being unable to address individualised needs.

The MÖ Aesthetic Clinic will be introducing BHRT treatments on 1st February 2019. Appointments are now available.

Our Cosmetic Nurse has been highly trained in the use of bio-identical hormones, and will conduct an in depth initial questionnaire talking into consideration your lifestyle, diet, exercise, relationships, stress factors, and more.
